The 2026 Grandma’s Marathon weekend runs June 19‑20 in Duluth, Minnesota. Flagship events include the full Grandma’s Marathon (June 20) – a flat, fast 26.2‑mile course along Lake Superior – and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon (June 20). The kickoff William A. Irvin 5K (June 19) starts near the historic ore boat. The Great Grandma’s Challenge links the 5K on Friday night with either the marathon or half‑marathon on Saturday. Additional community races round out the calendar: the KP Challenge series (Saint Fennessy 4K on March 14, Fitger’s 5K on April 18, and Park Point 5‑Miler on July 16), the Minnesota Mile (July 1 registration, fall‑season run), and the Halloween‑themed Superior Nightmare 5K (registration opens September 1). Youth‑focused events are organized by the Young Athletes Foundation, offering various kids’ races and programs throughout the year.
