Transition Expo 2026
The Annual Transition Expo takes place on Wednesday 9 September 2026 at the Auckland Netball Centre. Aimed at youth aged 12+ and their families, the event showcases a wide range of disability‑focused services and opportunities. Exhibits include tertiary education providers (University of Auckland, Manukau Institute of Technology, Unite, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa), employer stalls (Air New Zealand, Westpac, Whaikaha, Disability Employers Network, Mercury) for job‑market conversations, and service providers covering advocacy, banking, legal, health, Work and Income and Kaikaranga. Additional categories feature sport, recreation, arts, dance, small‑business enterprises (Disability Business Network), and social enterprises. Sensory‑friendly amenities include a quiet Chill Zone, a sensory‑friendly haircut by Groove Kutz, and sign‑language/Chinese interpreters. Interactive fun is offered by Motive, while Autism New Zealand, a transition seminar and the video “Sasanka’s Journey to Employment” provide specialised content. The expo is wheelchair‑accessible, free‑parking, and supported by the Ministry of Social Development, Clipboard and Mercury.
