Mediterranean Exchange of Archaeological Tourism 2026
The 2026 Mediterranean Archaeological Tourism Exchange (BMTA) will be held 29 Oct‑1 Nov in Paestum, Salerno, Italy. It gathers around 160 exhibitors showcasing archaeological parks, museums and cultural‑heritage tourism products, highlighted by the ArcheoVirtual zone featuring multimedia, interactive and virtual‑reality displays. The event includes a business‑to‑business workshop with foreign buyers coordinated by ENIT, a press‑conference hub (ArcheoIncontri), a startup showcase (ArcheoStartUp), and a university/ school outreach area. Awards ceremonies honour top discoveries (International Archaeological Discovery Award “Palmyra”) and underwater archaeology (International Underwater Archaeology Award “Sebastiano Tusa”). With 8,500 visitors, 150 conferences, 600 speakers, participants from 20 countries and extensive media coverage, BMTA serves as a unique platform for promoting archaeological tourism, fostering intercultural dialogue, and generating economic opportunities for the sector.
