Railroad Environmental Conference 2026
The 28th Railroad Environmental Conference (RREC) runs 28‑29 October 2026, preceded by a Sustainability Resiliency Day on 27 October 2026. Hosted at the University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign, the event brings together railroad operators, consulting engineers, academics, and regulators to discuss railroad‑related environmental issues, sustainability, and resiliency. Key program elements include presentations on new techniques and technologies, fall meetings of AREMA Committee 13 and the AAR Environmental and Climate Committee, and a focus on applying sustainability concepts to engineering design, maintenance, operations, capital projects, and materials.
